A Band for Hand Action
The aim of this action is to draw the attention of European citizens that in their neighbouring country Belarus, are people who are sent to prison for their beliefs. A white-red-white flag is the historical flag of Belarus. A few years ago President Lukashenka said it was illegal. Since that time it has become a symbol of opposition, a symbol of struggle for freedom and independence of Belarussian people. That is why wearing a band exactly in these colours is an unambiguous symbol of objection to Lukashenka’s regime and shows support for democratic transition.
